I found an ideal situation to check out the latest designs of the most influential german fashion designers in full display at Berliner Modesalon. Three floors of the beautiful Kronprinzenpalais packed with the who is who of fashion made in Germany. Michael Sontag caught my eye on the first floor with models showing his designs lounging on black beanbags. Absolutely stunning: the brocade suit in turquoise and gold.

The most glamorous designs could be found on the second floor at Vogue Salon – hand picked and hosted by Vogue Germany’s editor in chief, Christiane Arp, who was actually present the whole day.

A main inspiration for the designers appeared to be classic Hollywood this season, the dresses became a lot more sensual, elegant and sexy – without looking retro at all.

Nobi Talai dresses women in gently falling fabrics in mauve and mustard colors, accentuated with tiny bows. The waist line is set pretty high, a decision appearing in a big share of the presentations here.

Sarah Effenberger of Fomme  presented androgynous designs for men that would be totally wearable for women too. My favorite piece was the jumpsuit – another one featuring Prince of Wales Check. The sixties spirit radiating from this one immediately made me think of the James Bond movie „On her majesties secret service“ – the costumes for this one had been designed by Wily Bogner back then. Felix Scholz Illustration Vogue Salon Berlin Fashion Week Berliner Modesalon Fomme

Last but definitely not least, Vogues darling: Marina Hoermanseder ! Already excited to see her new creations at the show scheduled for the next day, I could get close to a selection of her new collection. Shiny leather in shocking pink or burgundy, masterly crafted – very powerful and so feminine. Felix Scholz Illustration Vogue Salon Berlin Fashion Week Berliner Modesalon Marina Hoermanseder
